Two Trains Collide with Car; Driver Nowhere to be found

Grandview-Kankakee Trail Car vs Train Crash courtesy of ABC 57

The good news is nobody was hurt, but police are looking into a crash Monday morning where two trains hit a car that was stopped on the tracks. It happened near Grandview and Kankakee Trail right around 3am.

Police say the driver must have decided to go around barricades at the crossing, that is currently under construction, and got their vehicle stuck on the tracks. A westbound train was the first to hit the car, followed by a second eastbound train. Police are actually still looking for the driver, however, as they were not at the scene.

ABC 57 reports this is the 4th time police have been at the crossing for a similar call since the crossing closed.
