There’s something different on the trays in the cafeterias of the South Bend Community Schools.

In a response to food shortages at three schools last month, the school has started a contract with Chartwells.

The company offers breakfast and lunch options as well as take-home for students that need it. Their food choices feature a number of fresh and healthy options and an app called Nutri Slice to keep families informed about the daily menu choices.

The schools say the feedback has been positive so far.
