Update: Man sought in gas station homicide surrenders to police

Dotson, Jr., Raymond M./ St. Joseph County Prosecutors Office

Thirty-four year-old Raymond Dotson Jr has been charged in the death of Joshua Flinn, who was shot and killed Saturday morning at the Phillips 66 at LaSalle and Lafayette.

Police quickly identified two men they wanted to talk to, and one of them soon came forward and confirmed eyewitness reports. He said that he and Dotson had gone into the gas station and at some point Dotson and Flinn got into a verbal confrontation.

The friend and Dotson left the store, and when Flinn left the store after them Dotson shot him several times and fled the scene.

Flinn died at the scene and police found an air-soft toy gun on him while performing CPR.

Dotson turned himself in to St. Joseph County deputies Wednesday morning.
