Mishawaka Man Creates Fake Bank Accounts; Steals Neighbors Credit

A Mishawaka man has been arrested for opening a slew of fake bank accounts and hacking his neighbor’s

Christopher Lehman is accused of opening bank accounts and depositing checks under the names of his wife, girlfriend, girlfriends mother, stepson, and stepsons father. None of the victims were aware that accounts were made in their name.

A neighbor called when he discovered someone had created an online account for his bank and changed the phone number and address; he also found a couple thousand dollars in fraudulent charges on his credit card.

Police say they tracked activity on all these accounts to the same IP address at Lehmans house.

He is facing 4 counts of synthetic identify fraud and one count of regular fraud.
