Raises coming for public safety officials in Mishawaka

(Tommie Lee/95.3 MNC)

Public safety workers in Mishawaka can anticipate a pay raise soon.

The South Bend Tribune reports the Common Council has overridden a veto from Mayor Dave Wood that allows passage of a salary ordinance.

Union firefighters and police in the city will receive a three and a half percent increase next year, across the board. Wood’s veto would have prevented paramedics from receiving stipends.
