Mayor Pete Buttigieg has announced a new appointee to South Bend’s Board of Public Safety.

Melissa Colpitts will fill the empty fifth seat on the board.

She’s currently serving as the Human Resources Generalist and Benefits Coordinator for the City, and has served the community in a number of other ways including two years on the Women In Leadership Board.

Colpitts is a lifelong resident of the city who says she looks forward to working to deliver leadership and transparency to public safety.
