Racist Graffiti Found on Neighborhood Streets

Residents in a neighborhood in St. Joseph County are looking for answers after they found racially motivated graffiti on their streets.

The graffiti was a spray painted swastika and the “N” word written out several times. They were discovered on Layton Road, which is near Elm Rd and south of the US 20 Bypass. The swastika is large enough to almost take up the entire width of the street.

Neighbors spoke with WSBT and say they are concerned that it is more than just kids messing around–noting rumors of increased KKK activity in the area.

Someone has already started work to cover them up, but the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department is still investigating the incident. If you have information you should call police.
