Michigan State Trooper Injured During Vehicle Pursuit

Michigan State Police says the incident happened around 3am on I-94 eastbound near Sawyer. Troopers were carrying out a traffic stop when the driver took off. It was at this point that the trooper was injured, exactly how isn’t clear.

The pursuit continued with an exit onto Red Arrow Highway, and then back onto 94. During the suspects attempt to get back on the highway they collided with a semi, lost control, rolled over, and hit a different semi.

One of those semi drivers suffered non-life threatening injuries; the officer’s injuries were described as minor.

Charges include suspicion of OWI, fleeing and eluding, resisting, and obstructing police
