There were some tense moments in the early moments of the big holiday shopping push at the University Park Mall.

WSBT reports that a large police presence responded to a report of shots fired at the mall around 10:30 p.m.

Officials describe that report as a misunderstanding, but note that there was a small fight reported at the mall roughly a half-hour later.

One person was taken into custody.
