Man Facing Charges for Causing Crash, Threatening Police

It all started with a crash on December 1st when police say that 38 year old Erik Bennett ran a red light at Michigan and Ewing and hit another car.

The crash caused a chain reaction, and afterwards witnesses say Bennett attempted to drive away before stopping and leaving on foot. A woman that was injured in the initial crash suffered possible skull fracture and concussion.

When police detained him and took him to the hospital they say he began to resist treatment, and threatened to shoot a police captain and a nurse.

His charges include leaving the scene of an accident and intimidation.
