Alcohol appears to be a factor in a crash that injured a Marcellus man.

The collision happened around 11:15 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, on Church Street, near the intersection of Goff Lake Road in Marcellus Township, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver was traveling eastbound on Church Street when he lost control of the vehicle, drove off the roadway and crashed into a tree.

The driver was the only occupant and he was transported to Borgess Lee Hospital in Dowagiac for treatment of his injuries.

The case remains under investigation.
