There are six companies competing for the contract to tear down a former jail and juvenile detention center in Goshen.

The Goshen News reports that the bids to tear down the downtown facility came during a meeting on Monday, and range between $1.3 and $2.3 million.

The building is between Second and Third Streets and is expected to be torn down in early October after a new complex is built.
