Indiana’s Todd Young is among the U.S. Senators who are requesting a comprehensive study of the National Organ Donation System.

Young and Senate Finance Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley of Iowa made the request in writing to the Acting Inspector General of Health and Human Services.

At question is the adequacy of the organ procurement and transplantation system. Young says a recent historic executive order from the president will transform the nations system, and save thousands of American lives. He says the current system is “mired by inefficiency, waste, and a serious lack of accountability.”
