Two teenage boys were apprehended by Dowagiac Police on suspicion of breaking into several vehicles.
One of the victims in the 200 block of First Avenue contacted police around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 24, stating their vehicle had been broken into.
The victim believed that the only thing that had been taken was some loose change but he had the incident on his surveillance system.
As officers arrived in the area they observed two suspicious people near Cass and Hill Streets.
One officer went and spoke with the victim while the other kept an eye on the two suspicious people.
The officer made contact with the victim and was able to view his surveillance system.
The officer was able to identify the subject in the video as one of the subjects the other officer was watching.
Those two subjects, a 16 year old male and a 14 year old male, were then stopped and detained.

The juveniles confessed to entering the vehicle when confronted with the fact that they were caught on a surveillance camera.
The juveniles then confessed to entering about 10 vehicles.
Some property that they identified as being stolen out of vehicles was located in a backpack the older boy was wearing.

The juveniles were released into the custody of their parents.  The Cass County Prosecutor is reviewing the case.
