A mother in Northwest Indiana who admitted injecting fecal matter into her son’s IV tube has received her sentence.

A judge in Marion County sentenced 44 year-old Tiffany Alberts of Wolcott, formerly of Warsaw, to 7 years in prison to be followed by 5 years on probation.

She was found guilty of one count of neglence and six counts of aggravated battery, and not guilty of attempted murder, during a trial in September.

Staff at Riley Hospital for Children contacted the authorities in November of 2016 after Alberts’ 15 year-old son developed several infections and a nurse saw the mother inject something into his IV tube. His health has improved in the years since the incident.

They should restrain her ears so she can’t fly away.

Tough to be on the jury I’ll bet .
Mercy killing ? Attempt to sue hospital for neglegence? Sick looking for sympathy?
Tired of fighting with illness . Drug money ? Thousand reasons .
Heart goes out to all concerned

A mother trying to slay her offspring for any reason is not very forgivable.
