LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — State police say overnight shootings have left two people dead at a northwestern Indiana convenience store.
Indiana State Police Sgt. Kim Riley says Tippecanoe County sheriff’s deputies were called Sunday night to a Family Express store in Lafayette after a 911 caller reported shots fired there.
When deputies arrived, one person was dead inside the store and an armed person was outside by the store’s gasoline pumps.
Riley says that when deputies tried to detain that person, shots were fired and that individual was killed.
State police did not immediately disclose who shot the two shooting victims at the store.
