Health officials in Michigan are reporting the state’s third vaping-related lung injury death

Michigan’s Department of Health and Human Services says they were notified about the death of an adult male on December 19. No other information was released on the patient for reasons of confidentiality.

Chief Deputy for Health Dr. Joneigh Khaldun says they extend their deepest sympathies to the family, and urge people to not use THC-containing e-cigarettes or vaping products until the specific cause of the vaping-related severe lung injuries being reported nationwide are identified.

On January 7 the CDC reported 57 deaths amid more than 2600 cases nationwide, not including this latest death in Michigan.
