Alcohol, drugs may be factors in injury crash in Cass County

Two teenagers from Dowagiac are recovering from injuries after a crash in which drugs and/or alcohol are believed to be factors.

The collision happened around 10 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17, on Peavine Road near Oak Grover Street when the 19-year-old driver failed to negotiate a curve in the road and struck a tree, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

The vehicle ended up with heavy front end damage.

A third person in the vehicle was not hurt.
