No-Go for Goshen parks alcohol proposal

A proposal to allow alcohol at some Goshen parks is officially dead. It had been proposed in early January that they should allow alcohol use to parties that rent park facilities for private use–providing they complied by department regulations.

After public input they added several rules to the proposal like requiring the purchase of a liability policy for all events and the hiring of professional security. Despite those efforts and amendments to make the idea more alluring it still failed on a 4-3 vote during Tuesday city council meeting.

The votes were all along party lines.
