The highest average rent in the state of the Indiana is right here in Michiana.

It’s in Granger, where December numbers from real estate tracker Yardi Matrix show the average rent is $1,301. That’s hundreds of dollars more than in South Bend and Mishawaka.

The report says South Bend’s average rent is $960, compared to $802 in The Princess City.

South Bend Regional Chamber of Commerce President Jeff Rea tells WSBT that it’s important to also remember that the average rent in Indiana is still lower than the national average.
