Years of controversy in the Paw Paw community could soon come to an end with a meeting tonight.

It’s been about a week since Superintendent Rick Reo publicly suggested that the High School move on from its Redskins mascot. It’s an issue that has resulted in numerous discussions that ultimately ended with no changes being made.

Last Tuesday the district held a meeting for the public to weigh in on the issue, and while it was closed to media a source told WSJM that the majority of those at the meeting seemed to be in favor of dropping the name.

They aren’t the only local school to have to make the change. Goshen Schools voted in 2015 to change their mascot and now go by the Redhawks.
