No relief for Lake Michigan water levees early in 2020, as February proved to be another record setting month. The Army Corps of Engineers says the Michigan-Huron basin is more than 17 inches above February 2019 levels and 6 inches above the previous high set in the mid 1980’s.
Tom Coomes with ABC 57 says that the outlook shows record levels lasting through July or even August. There may be some relief in sight; he says wind and wave events will become less severe as the weather warms up.
