Three teenagers were injured after the pick-up truck they were in crashed into a home.

The collision happened around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 12, in the 51000 block of Orange Road in St. Joseph County.

Officers arrived to find a 2006 red Ford Ranger pickup that had struck a house. The driver, a 16-year-old boy, was traveling southbound on Orange, left the roadway, went through a fence, and struck the home.

The vehicle hit the gas meter/line and caused a significant gas leak and extensive damage to the house.

The resident of the house was not hurt.

The driver had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

There were two passengers in the vehicle. One passenger, an 18-year-old from St. Joseph County, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. A second passenger, 19-year-old woman from South Bend, was allegedly sitting on the other passenger’s lap and sustained serious injuries, including a neck fracture and back injury.

The FACT investigation into the crash is still underway.
