Man takes off after vehicle vs train crash in South Bend

A driver who collided with a South Shore train took off from the scene, leaving a woman and two children behind.

The collision happened around 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, near Ardmore Trail and Bendix Drive in South Bend.

The woman and children were not hurt. One of the passengers on the train was examined by medics at the scene, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

No word, yet, whether police caught up with the driver.
