An 82-year-old man was found, dead, near a capsized boat on Rug Lake in Berrien County.

Emergency crews were called around 2:15 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, and spoke with relatives of the victim who said the man went out in a rowboat to fish, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

It’s not known whether the man suffered a medical incident before ending up in the water.

He was not wearing a personal flotation device, ABC 57 reported.
