Three Oaks woman seriously injured in crash in Weesaw Township

Speed appears to be a factor in a serious injury single vehicle crash in Berrien County.

The collision happened around 6:50 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, in the area of South Pardee Road and Sawyer Road in Weesaw Township.

First responders arrived to find a 2012 Nissan Maxima which they say left the roadway and hit a tree.

The single occupant was a 20-year-old woman from Three Oaks, Michigan.

She had to be extricated using the “Jaws of Life” by Weesaw and Lake Township Fire Department personnel.

The driver was tkaen to Lakeland Spectrum Hospital in Saint Joseph and later airlifted to a Kalamazoo Hospital area hospital.

The woman was not wearing a seat belt, according to police.
