St. Joseph County Michigan Prosecutor arrested after alleged OWI crash

The prosecutor of St. Joseph County Michigan has been arrested after an alleged O-W-I related crash.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to the area of Lovers Lane near Three Rivers to find a vehicle that crashed into a fence.

The driver, identified as County Prosecutor John McDonough, 40, appearing to be intoxicated.

McDonough, who has been serving as prosecutors for more than 10 years, was charged with operating while intoxicated and open intoxication.

He was taken to the Cass County Jail.

The case is being sent to the Michigan Attorney General’s office who will reassign the case to a jurisdiction outside of St. Joseph County.
