Benton Harbor Schools have officially approved a plan to try and get the district back on track. The plan was initially presented back in March but did see some changes this week.
That includes increasing teacher salaries to keep quality talent, using a large donation to fund security improvements, and a recommendation to downsize the district. That downsize should not include the closure of any schools.
Superintendent Andrae Townsel says that moving forward the district will focus of financial and fiscal responsibility.
