Child injured after running in front of vehicle Monday

A child is injured after running in front of a vehicle in Elkhart County Monday night.

Police report the incident happened just after 6 p.m. on Reckell Avenue, west of Berkley Avenue.

The child was reportedly running in-between two vehicles parked at the end of a driveway when he ran out into the roadway and into the path of an eastbound Dodge Durango.

The child was struck, causing injuries to his head and right side, including his arm and leg. The child was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The driver of the vehicle was not hurt.
