Man, 49, shot and killed late Monday night in Elkhart

A man was shot and killed in Elkhart.

It happened on Monday, June 22. Officers were called just after 10 p.m. to the intersection of Cone and Woodlawn Avenue where they found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead.

The victim was later identified as Kenneth Black, 49 of Elkhart.

Detectives from the Elkhart County Homicide Unit have taken over the case.

There is no word of any suspects or arrests, but investigators say there is no immediate threat to public safety.
