More information has been released about a motorcycle crash that happened Tuesday afternoon in South Bend.
On Tuesday, June 23, officers were dispatched to a car and motorcycle crash that occurred at approximately 1:45 p.m. at the intersection of S. Vernon St. and E. Bowman St. in South Bend.
A motorcycle was traveling northbound on Vernon when it arrived at the intersection of Vernon and Bowman, where the motorcycle had a stop sign. A Ford Taurus traveling
westbound on Bowman was attempting a right turn when the vehicles collided. The Taurus
did not have a stop sign. The car then left the scene.
The motorcycle driver, a 45-year-old South Bend man, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers found the car, and have located the alleged driver of the car at the time of the
crash.
The alleged driver is a 14-year-old male.
The St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team (FACT) was activated, per protocol, to assist
with the investigation, which is active and on-going.

seems a little too easy. 14 year old taking the blame. bet driver was either drunk or drugged and figured the boy won’t get into too much trouble. print the wheel, measure the seats, find any area cameras. this just seems too far fetched.
