Authorities identify men involved in apparent murder-suicide in Mishawaka

St. Joseph County Police are looking into what appears to be a murder suicide on the south side of Mishawaka.

Officers with the  St. Joseph County Police Department were called to the 16000 block of Valley Trail in  Mishawaka around 12:40 a.m. on Thursday, June 25, in regard to a report of an assault in progress.

Upon arriving in the neighborhood, officers discovered the bodies of two men with apparent gunshot wound injuries.

The men are identified as: Brent Gregory, 43, who lived at the home where the shooting took place, and Kenneth Hunt, 43, of Niles.

Autopsies have been scheduled for Friday, June 26, in Fort Wayne.

St. Joseph County Police Department officers secured the crime scene.

A representative of the St. Joseph County Coroner Office was contacted and per protocol, the St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit was activated and is currently handling the investigation.

Witnesses have been interviewed by CMHU Investigators.

Investigators are not seeking any suspects at this time and no arrests have been made.
