Sad news as the Notre Dame family has suffered a loss today, Beth Holtz, the wife of National Champion Head Coach Lou Holtz passed away today at the age of 83.

She had endured a lengthy battle with throat cancer that included 83 radiation treatments. Lou and Beth were married for 58 years and have four children, their eldest son Skip is the head coach at Louisiana Tech.

Family, friends, colleagues, and fans have been taking to social media to share their condolences.
