West Nile Virus discovered in mosquitoes in Mishawaka

The St. Joseph County Department of Health announced on Thursday, July 2, that they found a pool of West Nile Virus positive mosquitoes in eastern Mishawaka.

St. Joseph County is one of two counties in Indiana where West Nile Virus-positive mosquitoes have been found this year.

No human cases have been reported in Indiana this year.

Dr. Einterz, with St. Joseph County Help, gave some helpful, protective tips in a press release, including avoid being outdoors at dusk or dawn, make sure all windows have screens, and use mosquito netting when sleeping outdoors.
