Charges for man that led police on chase, crash on Sunday

The chase started Sunday on Lincolnway near Ironwood, and didn’t end until the driver crashed his car and fled on foot toward the UP Mall.

Police first tried to pull of Stone Lewis when they saw him run a stop sign. Lewis also allegedly threw a bag that contained drugs out of the window. The crash happened at Cleveland and Grape when his car went down an embankment and hit a retaining wall.

A passenger inside the vehicle had to be taken to the hospital for evaluation. More details on the passenger are here with ABC 57 News.

Lewis’ charges include resisting law enforcement and OWI;he told police he took ecstasy at some point before the incident.
