Boy, 5, hospitalized after being pulled from Pine Lake in Kosciusko County

Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating after a five-year-old boy was rescued from Pike Lake in Kosciusko County.

Crews responded to Pike Lake Beach around 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, after a child was reported missing in the water.

Witnesses say the boy was swimming in the public swim area near shore. The boy was later found unresponsive by a family member near the public swimming pier in approximately five feet of water.

Emergency personnel provided CPR and lifesaving aid. The boy was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital and later flown by Lutheran Air to Fort Wayne, where he currently undergoing treatment.
