Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) announced construction is now underway on its largest solar generating facility, and it will serve the Michiana area.

The St. Joseph Solar Farm, located adjacent to the Indiana Toll road between Bittersweet and Cleveland roads, will have approximately 57,000 solar panels.

The new solar facility will build on I&M’s commitment to a sustainable future, as the company has reduced its total CO2 emissions by more than 60% in the last decade.

I&M plans to work in partnership with the University of Notre Dame, with the University committing to support 40% of the renewable attributes of the facility.

St. Joseph Solar Farm is expected to be operational by spring of 2021. You can find more details by visiting IndianaMichiganPower.com/StJosephSolar.
