Niles woman hurt in hit-and-run collision at U.S. 12 and Fir Road

A Niles woman is recovering after being injured in a hit-and-run crash.

The collision happened around 2:50 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 17, near the intersection of U.S. 12 and Fir Road in Milton Township, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation shows the driver of the car that was hit, a 68-year-old Niles man, and his passenger, a 59-year-old Niles woman, were traveling westbound when they were rear ended by a vehicle which continued westbound on U.S. 12.

The woman was taken by ambulance to Lakeland Niles Hospital with minor injuries.

There was no immediate word about a description of the suspect’s vehicle.
