Elkhart police are searching for a robbery suspect after an incident at a Meijer gas station Thursday.

Police were called to the gas station in the 4500 block of Elkhart Road just before 6 p.m., where they were advised a man had jumped over the counter, causing the register to fall to the floor. He then grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene.

Police describe the suspect as a black man wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans, black shoes and a dark gray backpack with a metal design.

If you’ve seen him, or have any information on the robbery, call police.
