Constantine man arrested after police pursuit ends in crash Thursday

A police pursuit ended with a crash in St. Joseph County, Michigan last week.

The pursuit began Thursday on Mintdale Road, near Lutz Road, after deputies tried to stop a vehicle for a speeding violation.

The vehicle did not stop, instead fleeing from police while driving up to 100 miles per hour.

ABC 57 News reports the pursuit continued until the suspect reached the Engle Road and Mintdale Road intersection, where they lost control and crashed into a ditch.

The driver, a 27-year-old Constantine man, was arrested and booked into the St. Joseph County Jail on Suspicion of Fleeing and Eluding, CCW, Possession of Meth, Possession of Burglary Tools, Possession of a Police Scanner While Committing a Felony and Felon in Possession of Ammunition.

Police report the suspect also had several outstanding warrants for his arrest.
