A 19-month-old Goshen boy died after being struck by a vehicle in a driveway at a home in the 21200 block of State Road 119.

The collision happened around 5:45 p.m. on Friday, Sep. 18, when the toddler was sitting in driveway near front driver’s side tire.

The teenage boy was backing into the driveway and turned the wheel to straighten vehicle and the front driver’s side tire ran over pedestrian, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.

Goshen EMS and Medflight responded to the scene but the pedestrian’s injuries were fatal.

The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office crash investigation team is investigating.
