It’s a 50-year prison sentence for an Elkhart man who admitted to a violent home invasion.

Michael Middaugh, 51, pleaded guilty to burglary, sexual battery and criminal confinement while armed with a deadly weapon, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth.

He was arrested earlier this year in connection with the attack, in July 2019 on a Bristol woman.

The victim told police a man knocked on her door to ask for directions, then forced his way in and threatened her with a knife.

During the attack, Middaugh used a zip-tie to bind the woman’s hands and had her gather cash from around the house.

He is also accused of a similar home invasion in Marshall County.
