Suspect arrested after double shooting, crash at Hickory & Edison

A suspect has been arrested after a shooting that happened in the area of Hickory Village Apartments in Mishawaka.

Kalekeni Lindeire, 37, was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.

St. Joseph County dispatch received a 911 call around 3:10 p.m. on Friday, Sep. 25, for shots fired in the area of Hickory Village Apartments.

As officers were responding, other 911 calls began to come into dispatch regarding a rollover vehicle crash in a parking lot in the 3600 block of E. Edison Road.

Mishawaka and South Bend police officers responded to both areas.

Upon arrival, officers discovered two females who were riding in the overturned vehicle that was involved in the crash, had been shot.

One of those female occupants was pronounced dead at the hospital. The other was treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound and released.

St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit investigators interviewed several witnesses regarding the circumstances surrounding this shooting.

Lindeire is also charged with kidnapping and rape in connection with an attack on a woman that prosecutors say happened on Wed. Sep. 23.

Lindeire is scheduled to appear in court on Monday afternoon.

We need to know if the girls are white so we know if we should organize looting and vandalisim along with some rioting. If the girls are black no one will care because black on black crime is not an issue…Please le us know.
