For Hoosiers over the age of 60, research shows COVID-19 is two-and-a-half times as deadly as the seasonal flu.

That’s one death for every 50 older Hoosiers infected.

Researchers at IUPUI have conducted the first study to determine the probability of death.

Their study finds much lower death rates among other age groups–but they call attention to the fact that the long-term effects are not yet known.

Half the deaths among the over-60 population occurred in nursing homes. Leading once again to the conclusion that physical distancing, mask-wearing and avoiding crowded spaces can reduce infections.

Just more politically motivated scare tactics. Hey news flash, any virus can be more harmful to older people. It’s just common sense. OH wait, we don’t use common sense anymore.
