Family Video stores throughout the area are offering a promotion this month in an attempt to relieve customers’ late fees.

The “Late Fee Amnesty” promotion runs from October 20-25, and offers to remove customers’ late fee balances if they purchase a rental movie or video game.

ABC 57 News reports the promotion also covers accounts with delinquent items that weren’t returned.

The promotion comes just weeks after the retailer announced hundreds of stores will close their doors for good nationwide.

I used to manage a store and didn’t have any late fees and now I’m magically being sued for $5000 in late fees which is outrageous. The company closed years ago and I never had any late fees, don’t think I would have gotten my paycheck every time if I did. This is absolutely disgusting!
