The Berrien County Trial Court has returned to Phase Two of their plan to reopen to full capacity.

The Chief Judges of the court decided on Friday to move back to Phase Two of their plan after consulting with the local health department and Michigan’s State Court Administrative Office.

This comes in the wake of an upward trajectory in both documented cases and the percentage of positive test results for COVID-19 in Berrien County over the previous two weeks.

Proceedings will be conducted virtually to the maximum possible extent, and a number of precautions and training practices are taking place within the courts.
