A 4-year-old child was killed and a 26-year-old Nappanee woman was injured after a crash in Elkhart County.

The collision happened around 7:15 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 13, on State Road 119, near County Road 40.

The woman pulled in front of a semi and was struck, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.

The child was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman was airlifted to a hospital in Fort Wayne.

Factors into the crash are still being investigated.
