Portage man charged after allegedly firing gun near toddlers

A 27-year-old Portage man is facing a charge of criminal recklessness after he fired a gun outside his house with four toddlers inside.

Portage police were called to the home in the 3800 block of Linton Way and saw Stalberte walk out.

His girlfriend told police they had been out drinking and went home after Stalberte got extremely drunk.

When the girlfriend threatened to leave until he sobered up, Stalberte grabbed a rifle, walked into the driveway, and fired 15 rounds into the air.

Police also found marijuana in his pockets.

He faces a charge of criminal recklessness and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
