Niles city council approves downtown outdoor dining area

Niles City Council members approved an outdoor dining zone proposed by the Main Street Downtown Development Authority during their meeting on Monday, Nov. 23.

It’s located on North Second Street and is the same area used for Third Thursdays downtown, according to the Niles Daily Star.

The approval means food trucks may operate, restaurants may deliver food, and alcoholic drinks from licensed establishments may be consumed.

The space may also serve as an entertainment venue where people can gather through, at least, early January.
