Man arrested for robbery thanks to footprints in the snow

A man was busted for the burglary of a restaurant in South Bend after police followed footprints in the snow.

Jose Tirado, 25, faces one count of burglary after police were called to the Volcano restaurant on Lincolnway West when an alarm was triggered shortly before midnight Saturday.

Broken glass and fresh footprints were found at the scene, along with a cash register that had been busted open. The cash register box, which contained fake $100 bills and some real cash, was missing.

The prints in the snow led to a hotel where Tirado was found with some of the fake currency.
